I was traveling back from work taking my usual route home. There is one particular point in the route  from which the traffic intensifies.

The road from which the traffic starts is a two way road. At the starting of the road stood a traffic police who was waving his light , pointing to a small opening in the opposite side of the road. And I didn’t not know where the small opening actually led to. And I couldn’t see further down the lane where it leads. On the other side the direction how I usually travel was open.

All the vehicles kept ignoring him and kept going in the usual direction they were supposed to go. I had a few seconds to make a decision.

Either trust the designated traffic police whose direction no one seems to bat an eye or go the usual route I’m familiar with.

But i can vividly see how much traffic was in the usual direction I take. The other side I could only see a few meters ahead and I couldn’t see any vehicle in it.

I chose to take the road less traveled as Robert Frost would put it. And a minute later , I was glad I took it. I sped fast in that small lane which was placed to ease traffic. Turning to my left i could see all the vehicles jammed in traffic in the road I usually took.

I remembered the Police man. Nobody took him seriously or maybe they just followed the crowd. Maybe the narrow path with no one on it was too big a risk, not knowing where it actually ends up.

But it was also so obvious, This man was an official, he mustn’t be standing there to mislead people. He was hard to miss. But yet people followed the normal, the known, the usual, the road most travelled, though he was claiming with his actions pointing to the right way , to the easy way. It was too good to be true.

The God i believe as many of you know him by the name Jesus, claimed he way the way, that he is the truth and he knows the way to an everlasting life, a fulfilling life. No strings attached , Just an acknowledgement that he died for you and that through him you have life. No special ceremonies, Zilt. Nothing. But it’s too good to be true. And there aren’t many walking by that route. But I assure you, I’ve taken it and it’s the best route I’ve taken in my life.
